DTG and DTF are both full-color digital printing methods. Both reproduce logos, illustrations and photographs from your digital artwork. The difference is how the design reaches the shirt, which fabrics suit it, and how the finished print feels.

DTG
Direct to garment
The printer applies ink directly to the garment, then the print is cured. Cotton and cotton-rich shirts are usually the best fit.
Pros
Often a softer print feel on cotton, especially with lighter ink coverage.
Great for detailed artwork, photographs and smooth color gradients.
A strong choice for custom cotton tees and one-off designs.
Cons
Not as vibrant on some blends.
Not available for polyester.
DTF
Direct to film
The design is digitally printed onto transfer film, then bonded to the garment with adhesive and a heat press.
Pros
Works on a wider range of compatible fabrics, including cotton, polyester and blends.
Bold, full-color graphics and opaque color on light or dark garments.
Useful for logos and placements that suit a heat-applied transfer.
Cons
May not capture smooth gradients and fine details in certain images.
Thicker hand feel.
